Liposuction

Liposuction is a body-contouring procedure that removes pockets of stubborn fat which resist diet and exercise, refining areas such as the abdomen, waist, flanks, thighs, arms and the area beneath the chin. It is designed to reshape and define your silhouette — not to reduce overall body weight. At our Kuala Lumpur clinic the technique is planned around your individual proportions so the result looks balanced and natural rather than over-thinned.

Why consider it

  • Targets localised, diet-resistant fat deposits
  • Refines body contour, waistline and proportion
  • Several areas can be treated in one session
  • Long-lasting results when your weight stays stable

Who it's for

Liposuction suits people who are close to a stable, healthy weight but have localised fat that will not shift despite a consistent diet and regular exercise. It is not a treatment for general weight loss or obesity, and it cannot replace healthy habits. During your consultation we assess your skin quality, the area of concern and your medical history to confirm whether you are a suitable candidate.

What the procedure involves

Treatment begins with a private consultation in English, Mandarin, Korean or Japanese, where the surgeon maps the areas to be treated and agrees a plan with you. On the day, fine cannulas are used to loosen and remove fat through small, discreet incisions, with anaesthesia appropriate to the size of the area. Several zones can often be addressed in one session. The incisions are tiny and placed to be as inconspicuous as possible.

Recovery & downtime

Most people return to light daily routines within a few days and wear a compression garment for several weeks to support healing and shape. Mild swelling and bruising are normal and settle gradually. The final contour becomes clear over a few months as the tissues recover, and we review your progress at scheduled follow-up visits.

Risks & considerations

As with any surgical procedure there are risks, including swelling, bruising, temporary numbness, contour irregularities or asymmetry. Significant future weight gain can change your result. We will discuss the benefits, limitations and risks openly so your expectations are realistic, and we will tell you honestly if liposuction is not the right option for you.

Questions

Is liposuction a weight-loss treatment?
No. It contours localised fat in people near a stable weight and is not a substitute for diet, exercise or treatment of obesity.
Which areas can be treated?
Commonly the abdomen, waist, flanks, thighs, arms and under the chin. Your surgeon will advise what is suitable for your body during the consultation.
Will the fat come back?
Treated fat cells are removed, but remaining cells can still enlarge with weight gain, so a stable weight helps keep your result.
